Luis Ruuska leads the communication and outreach efforts for NDIGD and works to highlight the work of researchers, students, and faculty associated with NDIGD through a variety of digital and print mediums. He is NDIGD's communications liason to the Keough School of Global Affairs and its academic units, as well as Notre Dame Research and other communications units on campus.
Prior to joining NDIGD, Ruuska was a communications specialist at the University of Tennessee College of Law. He aided in a complete overhaul of the college's communications efforts, which included creating a new website and implementing new strategic social media and video plans. He was also a feature writer for Tennessee Law, the college's national alumni and peer magazine. During his undergraduate studies, Ruuska was a campus editor-at-large for The Huffington Post and worked to promote diversity and inclusion efforts at the University of Tennessee through his work as public relations chair of the Latin American Student Organization (LASO).
Ruuska holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Tennessee with a minor in Journalism and Electronic Media. He is currently working towards an online M.P.S. in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
